talking ’bout the weather…

20 Aug

when Dustin was round about the horizontal age – see later explaination – he said to me “mom, adults talk about the weather when they have nothing else to say ” Maybe he is right. Maybe I mention the weathermen in previous posts because I have nothing else to say !

Life is difficult at the moment on the business front for dh and we are simply going to have to mull through.

But, back to the horizontal age. This is round about 14 – 18 when if they are actually stood up on their feet their bodies are at 90deg to those same feet leaning on something. It could be your back. It could be the counter in the shops, it could be the kitchen counter tops. If they have their feet lifted off the ground then they are horizonal. In other words on their backs. In other words watching tv. In other words sleeping ( and growing !) the only time I think they are not in the above position is when they are standing at the fridge door, staring in, as if something is going to miraculously appear ! As if the statement ” MA there is nothing to eat in this house” won’t come out of that mouth. This statement actually means there is nothing nyummy, pre-packaged and easy to ram down the mouth. Nothing with chocolate on. Nothing with a salty finish. Nothing that takes 1 1/2 minutes until you hear BEEP BEEP BEEP cooked start to finish.

You know I don’t really miss those times ! 🙂

Well, I’d say you described my boys to a “T”. You forgot the words, “I don’t see it” for when they are standing in front of the open cabinet. . .to which the response is, “move something!”
